(No) Rest on the Sabbath!

[Sigh]…today was yet another rough day in the life of…me. After a wonderful Sunday morning sleep-in, Mommy and I went to Sue-Sue’s neighborhood for a very long walk. I was huffing and puffing by walk’s end. I am so out of shape, and I realized that I did not mind at all being so. I don’t understand why I have to suffer just because Mommy wants to loose her “winter weight.” But Mommy made it up to me by letting me cuddle next to her in bed for a nice afternoon nap. Then my favorite part of the day was when Mommy, Daddy and I went to Grandma and Grandpa Fortin’s for dinner and play time. I always have so much fun with my family, especially my cousins Annie and Levi. And, another great part is the food! Tonight I got chicken noodle soup…yum, yum! For dessert I had my choice of various new and slightly chewed rawhides. I was so exhausted when we left that I fell asleep in the car ride home. I just had enough energy to write in my blog before I go cuddle in bed with Mommy for the night. [Yawn.] I can barely keep my big eyes open. Oh, I hear Mommy calling ” Say good night, Norman”.

Well, you heard her, “Good night Norman.”

Bad Mommy and Daddy!

So, someone had to stay home tonight – ahem… ME! And when they get home, they smell like ANOTHER DOG! This is the equivalent of finding that foreign lipstick on your husband’s collar or the foreign sock in the sock drawer – you know the one I’m referring to. The one that isn’t yours, yet it’s too big and manly to be your wife’s!

Yeah, they are in that much trouble…

Mmmmm

So, Mommy made some eggs for herself the other day and when she couldn’t finish them all, I got to help! These are pictures of me making sure she doesn’t drop any. You know how you people are! There’s no wasting food! Don’t make me go into the “There are starving puppies” guilt trip again. I leave plates clean enough to eat off, again!

A Birthday Note from Bonzo!

For those of you who aren’t up with the latest, Bonzo is my brother (twin – well, we’re two of six) and thus, had our 3rd birthday Friday! Here’s what he wrote:

Happy Birthday Bro!
Wanted to pop in and say, “Isn’t it great being 3?” Happy Birthday! Did you get any cool presents? My mom and dad forgot until around midnight! Oops :( ! I think we’re going to celebrate today! I have become a very lazy pug lately since it’s been so cold outside. Plus, I do my “duty” quickly when I’m out there! Hope your adding a little spice to life at your home like I do. My grandma got me a quacking duck which I’ve become very fond of. Usually I like to dig the eyeballs, tongue or anything protruding out of my toys. But I love this duck and like to give him many kisses. My brother Bruin also has one and I make sure whenever possible I have them both!
Love,
Bonzo

And my response:

Hey Bro!

Great to hear from you! Happy Birthday to you, as well. Mom just got back from Florida, today, so we are going to celebrate my birthday tomorrow! I’m so looking forward to a new plush toy or something. My favorites are Tommy the Tomato (number 2), Puglet a stuffed Pug, and Manny the Menorah! Do send a picture of the quacking duck! I’d like to be able to show Mom and Dad what to get me for March – I expect new toys monthly.

What’s your secret to doing your “duty” quickly? I’ve got to do a couple laps around the park and sniff out the area, first. I think it annoys Dad from time to time, but that’s somewhat entertaining to me.

Thanks for writing!

Happy Birthday!
Norman
